1940's Toys

     After America entered World War II in 1941, rationing of materials and items needed for the war effort was started.  Rationing affected the food people ate, the clothes they wore, and it also affected the toys that children played with.  
     One of the field trips we took while doing our "Kids View" research was to Manhattan, Kansas to visit Dr. Ray Kurtz at Kansas State University.  We spent the afternoon learning about his 1940s toy collection.  Below are links to photos and information that Dr. Kurtz shared with us about his collection.
