Reading is an important part of every child's learning!
Reading Logs
Students should be reading 100 minutes at home each week. You will need to sign their reading log and have them return the log to school each Monday.
KU Book Awards
We are continuing the KU Book Award program again this year! Students will be required to read and report on 3 books per quarter. This will earn them a Silver award. If they choose, students may read and report on 24 books to earn a Gold award.
Each student will be given a book project matrix with 20 projects. Each project on the matrix can only be done once, until the entire matrix is completed.
In order to encourage students to read books at their level I have page minimums that change throughout the year.
1st Quarter: 70 pages
2nd Quarter: 80 pages
3rd Quarter: 90 pages
4th Quarter: 100 pages
