Second Quarter
Hello and Welcome to Second Quarter!
I hope that I was able to touch base with some of you at conferences on October 12-13. If not, please feel free to contact me with any questions at floyd@usd230.org or 913-592-7324.
What to Expect Second Quarter
- Students will be continuing to read four books/one thousand pages this quarter for their outside reading grade. They should be filling out their Book Report Form as they finish a novel. They also need to remember that any novel I assign them for a class unit can also be included on their book report form.
- They will also complete one novel with the class entitled The Pigman by Paul Zindel and various projects for the novel unit.
- We will complete a rather large writing assignment/project called The Special Person Paper. This has been a beloved activity by many students and may require some parental involvement at home.
- Students will also complete a second quarter porfolio assignment similar to the assignment from first quarter.
Moodle Page
Students have access at school and at home to my Moodle Page. Here, they will find information for the class and login sites for Tween Tribune. They will also find updated materials as needed to projects we are completing in class.
