Classroom Updates!
March 2012
In Biology 1 we will be finishing up our ecology unit. We will be tackling community interactions and studying this with a rock, paper, scissors competition. We will then talk about the impact that humans have on environment and will create our own public service announcements. One lucky student will have their PSA played on our announcements! We will end our year with the study of each of the 6 kingdoms. The much awaited dissections are going to be here soon! Students are encouraged to check Skyward often to ensure that there are grades are accurate and also be sure that they are turning in missing work!
College Biology students will finish up their studies of prokaryotes before we delve into the next 4 kindgoms after Spring Break. We will be trying out a few new labs with some glow in the dark bacteria! After our kingdoms unit, we will study ecology for the remainder of the year. We have a fun trip to the zoo planned for May that help us understand conservation in our community! Graduation will soon after that. I am going to miss these great kids!
