Combined SHIS and SHES Art Show Draws a Crowd

May 10, 2010

On May 13th, families and friends of Spring Hill Intermediate and Elementary Schools’ students gathered to enjoy a huge art show, which was held in the Intermediate School’s cafeteria. The display consisted of one to two art works from each student in grades K-5 that have been created throughout the year.

Students have used many different mediums this year, including printmaking, watercolor, tempera paint, oil pastels, colored pencil, crayons and markers. Students have also learned about several artists, including Marc Chagall, Vincent Van Gogh, Piet Mondrian, Helen Frankenthaler, Franz Mark, Paul Klee, Wayne Thiebaud, Jim Dine, Andy Warhol and many more. There was no admission cost for the event. However, donations of art supplies or monetary donations were accepted for next year’s art program.
