School Improvement Plan
Reading Goal: To improve reading fluency to ensure 100% proficiency on KS Reading Assessment by 2014 by building a strong reading foundation in our primary-age children.

Tier I (All students) Implement instructional strategies outlined in MMH. (Small group rotation; vocabulary development; word works; comprehension skills…)
Tier II (Some students) Provide 30 minutes of leveled instruction (fluency building (Read Naturally), skills instruction, vocabulary development, word study)
Tier III (Few students) Provide Triumphs instruction for students who are 1 grade levels below
Evidenced by: Assessments from MMH (Weekly, Selection, and Unit) DIBELS MAP- Taken by SHES 2nd Graders KS Reading assessments- Taken by 3rd-5th grade at Spring Hill Intermediate School (of which we are the feeder school)
Results-Based Staff Development
Training on MMH and Triumphs (Small group rotation; vocabulary development; comprehension skills)
Training on fluency development (Read Naturally, Reader’s Theatre, Choral reading, Echo reading)
Training on delivery of interventions for improving fluency, comprehension, phonological awareness and phonics skills.
Training on Phonemic Awareness
Training on Phonics Instruction
