Camp Invention

Camp Invention 2011

The Camp Invention program is coming to Spring Hill Elementary this summer!  The Camp Invention program is an exciting experience for children entering grades one through six. The Camp Invention program is a week-long summer day program that fosters creativity, teamwork, and science literacy through hands-on fun. Invest in your child’s ability to reason and problem solve through real-world challenges.  June 6-10, 2011 will be a fun-filled week of investigations, experiments, and engineering challenges that will blow your child’s mind!  Cost is $215.00 for the week.  Discount offered if registering before March 30.  After March 30, register with a friend to get a discount.

The SPARK Program this year features…

1.   W!LD:  Wondrous Innovations and Living Designs™

During the W!LD:  Wondrous Innovations and Living Designs™ module, children embark on a wild animal adventure to investigate some of the most spectacular and innovative animals on the planet.

2.    The Curious Cypher Club™

Children practice engineering skills to construct a clubhouse in which to employ math concepts and logical thinking to solve a mystery in The Curious Cypher Club™ module.

3.    An Atomic Journey™

During the Bounce! An Atomic Journey™ module, children investigate the science of atoms and molecules by experimenting with bouncy balls!  A dynamic mix of chemistry and physical science, children bounce their way through atoms, molecules, mixtures, and compounds to figure out how cool matter (like a bouncy ball) is created.

4.    Game On: Power Play™

Combining physical activity and creativity, children practice teamwork, cooperation, coordination, and creative problem solving during fun, energetic games in the Game On: Power Play™ module.

5.    I Can Invent: Edison’s Workshop™

The I Can Invent: Edison’s Workshop™ module illustrates the joys (and frustrations) that real inventors face during the process of creating totally new inventions. During the week, children work in teams to create multi-step inventions using pieces and parts of broken appliances and other upcycled materials.
