New Intermediate School Principal Announced

The Spring Hill School District recently announced the hire of Mr. Rodney Sprague as Spring Hill Intermediate School principal. At the Spring Hill Board of Education meeting held on May 10, 2010, the board approved the contract for Mr. Sprague, which will be effective July 1, 2010.
The district received 90 applications for the position, and seven interviews were granted to candidates. The review committee consisted of teachers and staff from the school, district administrators and a parent representative.
“Mr. Sprague’s considerable experience and the proven performance of the schools that he has been associated with make him an excellent candidate for the job of Intermediate School principal,” said Dr. Bart Goering, Spring Hill School District superintendent. “We are looking forward to his leadership and enthusiasm as he guides our students and staff.”
Currently, Mr. Sprague is the principal at Mound Valley Grade School and the director of professional development for Labette County, Kan., U.S.D. 506. Prior to his tenure in the Labette County School District, he was principal of a grade school in the Wichita Public Schools, U.S.D. 259, as well as principal of Lincoln Elementary School in Parson, Kan. Mr. Sprague’s educational career started as a classroom instructor, teaching 3rd through 5th grades.
Mr. Sprague has a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Wichita State University, his ESL Endorsement from Kansas State University, and a Master’s Degree in school leadership from Friends University.
