Achievements
Standard of Excellence: “The SHMS Expectation”
SHMS has consistently reached the Standard of Excellence on the Kansas State Assessments. Results from the last three school years include:
- 2005-2006: 7th and 8th grade Reading, Building-wide Reading; 6th and 7th grade Math, Building-wide Math.
- 2006-2007: 6th, 7th and 8th grade Reading, Building-wide Reading; 6th, 7th and 8th grade Math, Building-wide Math.
- 2007-2008: 7th and 8th grade Reading, Building-wide Reading; 6th, 7th and 8th grade Math, Building-wide Math. SHMS has also achieved the Standard of Excellence in the areas of social studies and writing. These banners hang proudly in our commons area, and students will be adding to them, no doubt!!
