Bill Meek

Mr. Meek and his wife, Diana, are lifetime residents of the Spring Hill area. Their three children, Matt, Malissa, and Mark, graduated from Spring Hill School District.

Son, Matt, is a math teacher; daughter, Malissa, has a Biology degree from KSU; and son, Mark, is a sophomore at Johnson County Community College.

Mr. Meek graduated from Spring Hill High School and attended Emporia State Teachers College and Pittsburg State University. He is the owner of a construction company, farms property in rural, and has worked as a vocational education teacher.

Mr. Meek has occupied the seat of President and Vice President within the fourteen years as member of the Spring Hill Board of Education. Other experience within the field of education include Past President of the Kansas Association of School Boards, Past Chairman of the Johnson County Area Vocational School’s Board of Control, Member of the Johnson County Community College’s Vocational Advisory Board, Past Member of the National School Boards Associations Policies Committee, Past Member of the Governor’s Commission on School-To-Work, Past Member of the Governor’s Commission on School-To-Work Transition, and Past Member of the Task Force on Special Education Funding.

Among his various awards are: Kansas State University’s Kansas Rural Education Service Award, Past Citizen of the Year in Spring Hill, Kansas Association of School Boards Distinguished Service Award, and the National School Boards Association Award for Distinguished Service
