Dr. Meyers has been employed by the Spring Hill School District
since July 1994. His first assignment was Director of
Special Services. In July 1999, he accepted the position of
Director of Human Resources and Education Services.
Dr. Meyers has a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of
Education from Kansas State Teachers College, and his Doctor in
Education from the University of Kansas.
His professional experience includes special and general
education administration, teacher of students with disabilities,
school psychologist, and grant writer. Related professional
experience includes teaching assignments at the University of
Kansas, Kansas State University, and Pittsburg State University.
The Kansas Association of Special Education Administrators
recognized Dr. Meyers active involvement in special education when
he received the 1993 Kansas Special Education Administrator of the
Year Award. In 1998, the National Council for Exceptional
Children awarded him the Professionally Recognized Special
Educator (PRSE) certificate for Special Education Administration.
Dr. Meyers has authored and co-authored many competitive IDEA
special education grants, Educate America Act grants, and U. S.
Department of Education grants amounting to over two million
dollars.
Dr. Meyers is married to Norina who is a speech pathologist for
hearing impaired students. They have three children,
Michael, Nicholas, and Mallory.
