| The students and staff of SHES participated in a
"Fun-raiser" for Rob Sturm, husband of Laura Sturm a
paraeducator in our Title I program. During the week of November
13th, student and staff brought in change from home to donate to the
collection. To make it fun, each day had a theme.
Monday--pennies, Tuesday--nickels, Wednesday--dimes,
Thursday--quarters, and Friday--dollars. The faculty and staff
of SHEs had a chance to suppor this cause by donating $5.00. For their
generous donation, they were given the opportunity to wear jeans and a
brown shirt to show their support for the Sturm Family. In
addition, the SHES Student Council purchased multi-colored,
inspirational wristbands which were distribtued to the entire shcool
in honor of Laura and Rob. Donations were accedpter for these
wristbands also.
This "fun-raiser" was a huge success! Mrs. Sturm
and her children were honored during a morning opening and presented
with a check for a whopping $3,700.00.
