Vision Statement

"U.S.D. #230 is determined to prepare students to contribute to society.  All students achieve their highest potential through mastery of educational outcomes with an emphasis on lifelong learning."

The SHES vision statement makes specific the district vision and incorporates future-directed goals for our learner:

"The staff, community and the students of Spring HIll Elemenatry School are building together the foundation for the future."  This is the vision statement for our learning community.  Further, it is the belief of the staff of Spring Hill Elementary School that we develop students who are:

1.  Lifelong learners
2.  Effective Communicators
3.  Analyzers and problem solvers
4.  Readers who comprehend
5.  Necessary life skills users
6.  Environmental caretakers
7.  Responsible citizens
8,  Self-confident individuals

Mission Statement

This vision drives our mission statement, "Building Together the Foundation of Our Future."  Our mission statement is seen and heard all around our school.  Students who broadcast morning announcements routinely finish with ...and our mission is, "Building Together the Foundation of Our Future.  Have a great Day Colts!"

We operationalize our mission statement to mean that we have future-oriented goals (1-8 above) for ourselves and for our students.  All of our efforts must be pooled and directed toward ensuring that students reach those goals.  The blueprint that brings alive our mission is our school improvement plan.  This annually-revised document details a five-year improvement cycle designed to direct and evaluate our work.

Spring Hill Elementary is a mission-directed and goals-focused school.
