Soda Fountain Experiment

Fifth graders conducted a very cool science experiment.  After observing the reaction of Mentos with Diet Coke, students were asked to change one variable to test which reacted better.  Some groups used a different type of soda, while others used a different candy.  As each group tested their experiment, students measured the height of the "fountain" and the reaction time.  In our class experiment, the two that went the highest were Diet Dr. Pepper with Mentos and Mountain Dew with Mentos.  We had a great time watching our "Soda Fountains"!
