Hi, I wanted to tell you a little about the Health and
Physical Education program and myself. I am Alicia Von Stein and I started
teaching at Spring Hill Elementary in 2001. In 2007 I transferred to Spring
Hill Intermediate. I played Volleyball and Softball at Butler County
Community college and graduated with an Associates degree. I went on to
Emporia State and Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary/Secondary
Physical Education and Health. I finished my Masters degree at MidAmerica
Nazarene University in 2005. I teach Physical education/Health to
third-fifth grade. I am also the head volleyball and junior varsity
basketball coach at the high school. I believe that knowledge about health and fitness are crucial. Without it, other life goals are difficult to achieve. Students who have health knowledge and skills have better health status and as adults will be better prepared to contribute to societies competitiveness. Within our PE program it is my goal to help each child be more prepared for life’s challenges. We learn everyday as we play.
